Works that form the Crimean Holidays
exhibition appeared after Oleksiy Apollonov's visit to Crimea. That
is the certain synthesis of his fantasies and expectation of what
he whished to see and remembering, reflections on the subjects of
perfect world, that he met there; results of impressions that is
made by Tatar village Sonjachna dolyna (The Sun Valley) peculiar
conglomerate of the world landscapes and cultures, where mountain
landscapes of Armenia, little Georgian river, oriental habits of
residents that live here only ten years, but already create their
own micro-space, harmonically coexist. The component parts of this
special world lapidary, archaic simplicity of hand-made shepherd's
hut, exotic aroma of chaikhana, shadow of fig-tree and dust upon
the stones of ruined thousand-year temple. All of this give birth
to the new perception of the world...
